You’d think he’d know not to get like that when accused of cheating at cards D:

First Widdershins book! Can’t wait! Reminds me that I’m still waiting for the Darken book though.. any idea when that’ll come out?

    • Hehe Wolfe seems to share your opinion. ; D

    • KomiIsDrawing

Still working on it! That’s the reason I didn’t do a preorder step for these books, since the Darken ones are still on preorder and it’s killing me to keep you guys waiting!

… Do Wolfe’s fingers look… odd to anyone else during his facepalm?  I realize it’s his right hand, so we’re looking at his pinky, but still the proportions seem… off.  (Though who am I to criticize?  I can’t draw anything.)

Also curious about the content of those obscured speech bubbles!

    It’s “Gott im Himmel”.
    Just saying, love your comic.

Guh, I had a suspicion it was, but google was remarkably unhelpful on clarifying it! Thanks!

    • Me-me

Sorry, but given that English is all I know, I can’t think of it as anything but “Got ‘im, Himmel!”

I don’t think Jack is completely off here.  He has to get indignant when accused of cheating, otherwise he’s basically admitting his guilt!  It’d be tough to carefully negotiate a peaceful resolution there, when the other player is already so angry.  Even giving back the winnings would be super-suspicious.

I see. So this is how it works:

You win: You’re a cheating wizard!
You lose: The other guy is a wizard and what are you going to do about it? Huh? Huh?

“You have no proof!” = “My magic is so subtle that no one notices it.”

  • Where is the second end of Mal’s scarf..? Wouldn’t it normally be hanging over the back of his right shoulder with that sort of configuration? Loving the comic by the way, just curious how his character design works. ; )

Down his back? Tucked into the knot around his neck?

He’s lying! If it’s ca. 1830 there is no Germany! (Though this is the Widderverse, so you never know…)

Though that explains admirably why she’s never heard of it.

Well *he* didn’t specifically name Germany, did he? It’s a bunch of countries with similar languages that the English all just call “German”. “German-Land” also is an adequate description for the region.
