  • Eheh I’d been wondering if he was cuffed to the chair since he’d not been moving his left arm… ^_^;
    Oh dear, I wonder if we know this boss or if this is to be a new face? Can’t wait to find out, or what happened to Wolfe!
    And oho, she -is- a Barber!

  • Oho, so she -is- a Barber!

    Whoa. Getting hanged for hitching a train ride and cheating at cards? That city means business.

    • Sabreur

      Nah, she’s just a bit of a hard case.  I doubt the city hangs for stuff like that, she’s just annoyed that somebody went over her head.  At least, that’s my take on it.

      If I remember rightly Widdershins is set in the first half of the 19th century, a few years before Victoria would take the throne in our world. In historical England the Bloody Code was still more or less under effect as they didn’t start to phase it out until later which means that local magistrates held the power and could have hung Mal. The keywords in the captain’s dialogue are “fistfuls of stolen money”, if it was high enough they could hang him and according to Google it seems that stealing more than a shilling would qualify. Hell he could have been hung for impersonating a Chelsea pensioner that’s how execution happy it was.

      • KomiIsDrawing

        Yes, they really were kinda nuts on execution, especially as there weren’t too many jails around at the time.

        Also, he’s up for illegal use of magic, which sadly has no historical precedent :)

    Wolfe is the boss!

    No, probably not. BUT HE COULD BE. He DID lure Mal to Widdershin, after all.

    OR he’s a werewolf. People with names like that are always werewolves.

    Nah, he’s probably not that either. I’ll keep on guessing!

    I got a nasty feeling he’s going to be used as a human magic detector to help round up the magicians.

    …Maybe I should stop sleeping with a copy of “V for Vendetta” as a pillow.
