the sixties and the forties I’m guessing

    • Sanjay Merchant

I figured the twenties and the fifties.

      • Hans Rancke

Assuming that’s the case, I’m going to make a mighty big leap from a very flimsy support, and predict that the collection will eventually consist of one captive per genration. We’ve got one from the 1020s, one from the 1950s, and one from the 2010s. “All” we need now are specimens from the 1860s, the 1890s, and the 1980s. (Yes, I’m ignoring anything futurewards of the 2010s).

Hm. The Lass looks very Roaring Twenties to me. The Matron is very Rockwell, so probably late-fifties/early sixties.

Also, they’re all trapped inside a pseudo-mystical/alternate-dimensional hotel where they’re the only ones there, because they’ve all been selected by Gluttony as “the best”. Reminds me a bit of a Doctor Who episode, actually…

  • AsimvSideburns

Why, that dashing 1920s lass appears to have the same facial structure as Harry!

Now, either that’s a trick of the art style, or somebody is collecting Barbers…

    • JediaKyrol

Not really a good Idea to hoard sociopaths…

  • Sounds like Gladys is from Scotland. Will she be cooking deep fried Mars bars? A much maligned but delicious delicacy. Also deep fried pizza and deep fried meat pies. I love Scottish cuisine.

    • JediaKyrol

Deep Fried Lard! Ancestor of the American Deep Fried Butter-on-a-Stick.

      • AsimvSideburns

Deep Fried Coca-Cola takes the cake. And the pie. And all those muffins, too.

  • cody demetro

    Well 23 skado!

  • =Tamar

1920s and late 1940s is my guess, unless they’re being Retro.

  • Felix Kütt

This is the scariest story so far…

  • notStanley

I like the multi-direction/level staircase in panel 1 looping back under itself

    • JediaKyrol

That’s just a regular switch-balcony staircase. You go up the middle, then turn around and come up one of the sides.

  • People from various times brought together because they are the best at their type of cooking in an otherwise empty incarnation of the hotel . . . yep, we’ve got a pocket dimension.

  • Sanjay Merchant

I’d love it of the redhead was actually from like the eighties or something and had some sort of retro-themed cooking show.

So the hotel seems to be collecting the best cooks to ever set foot in the kitchens. I’m guessing they all have different specialties. So Our Heroine is the best baker, someone else is the best at pastas, someone else is a wizard with salads.

I like seeing it at 119% and 28 days to go. Wonder how many of the good tiers are left… :-D
