      PUNS!

      • Me-me

Don’t make me puns you in the face.

        • Happyroach

Do you have to mouth off at everybody?

          • Disconnected

Well he is a glutton for punishment…ow, I think I just sprained something.

            • A glutton for punishment, you mean

              • Timni16

Don’t you think that you are biting off more you can chew right now?

Just read through the entire archive starting yesterday. Now I’m going to disappear for a bit and treat myself to another wonderful archive binge because I am in love with your webcomic.

    • svartalf

Be careful you don’t accidentally summon Gluttony doing all that bingeing. >:-D

  • Darkoneko Hellsing

    How greedy

    • Sanjay Merchant

Eh, Gluttony looks more like a Gibbering Mouther than the Greedy. :-P

  • Nonesuch

That’s the thing about sins. They take perfectly natural things — like hunger — and then blow them up into terrible, life-warping obsessions.

    • svartalf

      That’s why they’re called Deadly Sins… :-D

      • Nonesuch

That’s kind of what I was going for, yes. ^^

  • Nonesuch

    I just want to be sure — did Greed escape into the mortal realm at the end of the first story arc? I thought it went back to the Spirit World. o_o;

    • svartalf

It might’ve. Sloth got cut loose in the world with the circle being disrupted. Even then, Gluttony’d be *PEEVED* because it can’t work the same game out there as it could in the stacked-deck pocket dimension it built for itself within the circle.

    • Sanjay Merchant

When I first read that arc, before I realized the whole thing was apparently going to be themed around the 7 Deadly Sins getting loose in Widdershins, I had thought that the freedom Greed referred to was freedom to return to wherever it is that spirits come from. By now? I’m convinced that there was some weird clause in the summoning that created the Bracelet and the Statue that made it such that Greed couldn’t be “sent home” so to speak. At least not without some very specific, highly advanced ritual, which Sydney would have no way of knowing about. Because otherwise it looks like Greed was simply properly de-summoned, and where’s the fun in that?

  • Looks like he had one drink too many

  • Odo

I’m having a bit of a hard time interpreting up down and sideways here, but it looks as if Gluttony is being sucked out of the hotel now that its(?) circle is broken. And of course, being Gluttony, it always wants more. There is no way it can ever be satisfied.

As for the Deadlies in general, they are *always* in the mortal world. What’s been interesting here is that some of them have become incarnate in the mortal world, hence potentially stronger.

    • Not Me

I always took the summoning of spirits to be like coalescing an abstract concept into a physical form.

  • JWLM

Umm…yeah. Anybody remember Rosie’s concern about circles within circles? I wonder what’s going to happen to the inner circle now that the outer circle isn’t there any more?

    • Del

Anything could happen. Creator Kate will have to reveal this to us.

We can be sure that Nora’s Courage will return to her within her circle.

Will the kidnapped chefs be spirited back to their original time zones?
Will Rosie be left behind, because of her protection within a circle?
Will everyone be left behind, waiting for more magic to return them home?
Will we get a cameo visit from any of Nora’s sisters?

So much to look forward to!!!!

  • chrono2x

    Doctor Who homage?
I’m excited to see how this storyline ends. Especially finding out if the cooks get to go back to their own times.

  • SoItBegins

    Aaaaand out it goes…

  • This guy

Gluttony needs to understand himself better.
    “I wasn’t finished!”
    Dumbass.
