Oh no

That one guy

The Widdershins books have arrived! Come buy one right here right now, only £9.99 for 68 pages of full-colour shiny joy!

The Widdershins Book Club is also now open for business, which allows you to subscribe to receive each new book hot off the presses, and gets you some shiny extras too!

I’d super-appreciate it if you’d buy my silly wizard book!

I’ll bet her perfume or some chemical being spread is causing the wizards to get too stressed/headachey/sleepy to summon properly. Which means they fail, which means her political campaign works.

       CURSE YOU NIIIIINNNNNJAAAAAAASSSSS!!!

good theory! she’s certainly one of the bad guys. with her appearance, she could only be one of the good guys in a spaghetti western, as the wily matron of the town, who doubles as sheriff.

    • I think you’re right.. though if it’s actually something harmful disguised as a perfume I don’t think she’d wear it on purpose or spread it herself if she could avoid it, even if it didn’t affect her it could link her to the crime or make people sleepy when she’s trying to talk at them. XD I bet later when they find some bad-guy lair or something Mal will start to get a headache even with no crowds around and realize it’s her perfume, linking her to the baddies. Or else if it is a chemical like you said, she smells of it because she’s been participating/overseeing it’s production and it’s not a perfume at all..! Whatever the case, I can’t wait to find out.

I wonder why Ben is taking his gloves off? Are they too chalky now to be prim and proper enough to wear?

A brilliant idea came to my head, he’s shown to not only be able to see, but hear spirits. Perhaps she’s wearing some sort of spiritual perfume? It would explain why wizards are getting headaches while making circles (What with opening themselves up to the spiritual world) and why he’s the only one commenting on it, what with his senses /always/ open to the spiritual world. It only targets him and currently-summoning wizards.

        • Ohh a perfume that only affects people with magic? Ha! Mal would have a magic nose too! It makes me want to go back and check if Wolfe ever commented on the perfume one way or the other, either to say ‘well it is pretty strong’ or maybe give him a quizzical look like ‘what perfume’? Though neither buggerup or any of the sleepy mages have mentioned a smell… I do like the idea of attacking magic with chemical science though!

Mal, you could bet good money that you’re the only one smelling that “perfume”- nobody else is commenting on it.

Hahaha, Wolfe seems to be doing that thing where you take something you know you’re good at and say you’re not very good at it so that someone will correct you and you’ll feel better about yourself. Fishing for compliments, much, Wolfe??

I’d say he’s more humble, at least in this situation.
