    Short break, folks.
Smoke ’em if you’ve got ’em. ;)

Not knowing how long it will take always makes for the longest wait. Like sitting in a windowless room with no connection to the outside. These two have no idea what’s going on with their friends. The only information they get from the outside is deadlies coming in. The longer it takes the more they’ll worry.

    • Worry? With those two I was thinking more impatience. “Come on Sid / Benjy. Get on with it! I haven’t got all day!

  • Azmodan

    Oh no, Sloth won!

Honestly, I’m not sure I think this should be considered not an update. So often in stories we only think of the parts where all the action or drama was, but we know there have to have been those times when people were just sitting around… There’s a certain realism here.
Plus, it fulfills Del’s prediction from the comments on the title page of this chapter. ; )

    • Del

      You have an astounding memory!

      Del • a year ago

Harriet Barber and Jack O’Malley, working together!

I predict lots of tobacco smoke.

      • Ocean Burning.

Haha, no, you have to take two things into account:
        1. I only found all this last December;
        2. Excessive re-reading. :D

I like how Harry’s sitting neatly cross-legged and straight-backed, and Mal’s folded up with his arms and legs at all different angles. Even when they’re just sitting around not doing anything much, the characters have distinctive body language.

Mal: Wonder how the others are doin’…

    Harry : Hm.

Back at the Hotel of Gula: -inarticulate cacophony of cursing and screaming-

    • ITYM “Hrm”

      • Tsapki

Ah, so I did! Thank you for the correction.
