I didn’t think Mal was THAT much bigger than Ben, huh.

    • Ben’s only a little taller than Henry! That is pretty short. Mal’s reasonably tall, he just hunches a lot.

    • Sanjay Merchant

In this case, it’s not really height that’s the issue. Ben has the narrowest shoulders of the three of them, and is therefore the most likely to be able to squeeze through the window.

    The Violin is saved !

if they think of taking it at all.

    • Ayara012

…To be honest I really hope they save the violin too XD

      • I’m also joining in on the bandwagon of concern for the violin!

    • A true musician would forget to grab his pants in an emergency before he’d forget his axe.

      • Sapphire altera

        … Gimli?

      • He’s already wearing his pants, though. The violin was the only thing left to forget.

        • Sapphire altera

What about Wolfe’s journal (I think that’s the book in panel 1)? It at least has some very detailed notes on Slothe, and probably stuff on their more recent adventures.

    • CountSessine

Only if it’s right there to be grabbed. I’ll mourn it if it burns, sure, and so will Wolfe, but he has borrowed an instrument before now. Friends are not so easily replaced.

      • Sapphire363

It is there to be grabbed, in the corner of the first panel.

  • “Come with me if you want to live.”
With me. In my apartment. I need a roommate.

  • Pangaea

You want to banish, abjure or dismiss it, not desummon.

    • MoeLane

      Or just kill it, apparently.

Points to those three for working the problem, by the way. Wolfe figured out a way to at least get one person out. O’Malley was ready to die well and defiantly. Ben tried to do magic at it. Decent instincts all around.

  • kuku

Yay for stalwart Ben, generous Wolfe, and effectively heroic Harry! What was Mal getting ready to do with the chair? Smash the window if it didn’t open?

    • Hit the monster over the head, probably

      • kuku

I thought of that, but hitting a fire monster with a wooden chair would just be fueling the flames, right?

        • Hey, I never said it was a good idea

  • Sal

So what is the incantation for tipping a bucket of water over someone’s head?

  • Oh, what a world, what a world…

  • Columbine

In my head Harry has suddenly gone *more* Yorkshire. Like she has reached required level of heroic awesome and even her accent has leveled up.

    • Euodiachloris

When she suddenly spouts tea at random apostrophes, she’ll have hit peak. ;)

  • Winger

  • McFrugal

Hey, don’t just drop the bucket like that! Perfectly good bucket.

  • Marvelous TK

Ah, yes, I had forgotten what an excellent spellcaster Harry is. Ala-ka-bleedin’-zam.

  • Here I come to save the daayyyy!

  • dexitroboper

The window is small because of the window tax

  • Bo Lindbergh

    Barber’s Unmagical Bucket of Quenching.

    • Bieeanda

Learned it from the Wet Blanket of Bristol.

  • Dane 72

    Barbers to the rescue

  • dana

It occurs to me that I seen magic spells for starting fires, convenient for lighting cigarettes and fireplaces, but I don’t recall ever seeing a spell for putting one out.

    • Phil

Given the amount of magical accidents that seem to occur, most wizards probably don’t get that far.

  • AJ

One Musician, one Witch, and one Actual Wizard, and nobody tries to quench the burning anger with a proper bucket of water.

  • Sanjay Merchant

O’Malley vainly hoping to hold off a fire monster with a wooden chair is strangely adorable.

    • I think he might have been planning to break out the window before he saw how small it was, but then again wielding chairs has to be a multi-purpose skill!

  • Haven

Now I’m going to be wondering what Ben was trying to do and if it would have worked.

  • Ooorah

I was totally thinking that line when I saw the last panel.

  • Michael Haneline

Lords, Harry is such a badass.

  • Gwennafran

Can we talk about how precious Ben is here? He’s got friends now, and he’s not leaving them behind…

  • Now, as Mr Thackerey is clearly the wizard, will Ms Barber make the obvious mistake and assume that he is the witch?

  • Del

Gott im Himmel! You are the fraulein from the freight train, no?

    • SomeGuy411

Good memory. Thought they had met before, but couldn’t remember where

  • Chris the Blue

oh my god they’re finally together this is finally happening they’re gonna team up

  • Ilmari

That’s the Harry we love. Hocus-bloody-pocus, and all that.
