Ah!!! she’s eating the pomegranate seed!

  • Do you think Mrs. Sykes -is- Gluttony somehow? I know she apparently existed on the staff before this all went bad, but otherwise I wonder what the significance is of all these food-endearments is?

    • Nah, just your classic evil henchperson, enjoying the power-by-proxy.

      • =Tamar

        She might be possessed.

It is kind of odd, given the backstory Nora gave, that Mr. Cartwright is nowhere to be seen. Still, there’s a strong implication that this whole “summon gluttony” thing was Sykes’ idea. Maybe she’s the wizard who did the summon? But if so, why is she so heavily invested in pursuing gluttony’s agenda rather than her own?

I really hope we get some answers about what her deal is before the end of this arc.

MaybeMr Cartwight is being possessed by Gluttony.

They look so thin ? Which mean, no matter how much they eat, they’re never satiated ?

  • Swagner

And then the guests all wake up and eat her?

Good grief, Mrs. Sykes wouldn’t have to ask me twice. They look delicious.

Ditto, I’m afraid. I don’t have a shred of willpower when it comes to normal food, let alone enchanted.

  • Okay, now I’m really confused. All my theories about what the hell is going on here have been dis-proven, and I can’t make heads or tails of this new data /unnecessarysciencejargon

I’m assuming the food is imbued somehow, although it must be after the fact as opposed to during Mal’s adventure when it was while the food was being made.

    Persephone much?

So it’s the Hunger aspect of Gluttony? The people aren’t eating because they are enjoying it…they eat because they are being starved to death…and staff probably gets “sent home” when a seats previous occupant literally wastes away to nothing.

Wait…Nicola is a Captain, yes? Not the Chief of Police? Because it looks like her asleep in the punchbowl on the last page, but if we’re correct in assuming Nora is Fenton nee Barber, then it’s a bit odd she would refer to her own sister as the Chief of Police and not, y’know, her older sister.

  • That poor Mayor. His debate broken up by a giant invisible blob monster and now he’s gotten trapped in this mess as well..!
